Hello! I am Juan Francisco (you can call me Juanfran, or just Juan). I am a young visual anthropologist and PhD candidate obsessed with arts and sciences nurturing, and yet clashing, encounters.

I am now working inside the Visual Trust ERC project, led by prof Roger Canals, about how people think images are entitled mediums for their personal beliefs and trust in a handful of contexts. I am focusing on Hinduism and related religions in India and its diaspora: "What does make a religious image true or not?" or "how do we bind a pact of trust with the Divinity through its gaze?" are the type of questions we are lying on the table.

On this website I will load all my thought processes through images, assembling, mingling, cutting, and expanding them into a sort of collage. The ultimate goal is to think of images through images, letting them speak what they want. Also, sometimes these pannels will show the collaborative work progress with my project colleagues.

Please, feel free to navigate the panels where I am working. You will find photographs, videos, and text mixed with theory and philosophical thinking. It is all a work in progress, with no other aspiration than not thinking in terms of outcome, failure, or success.
